Primavera 200 violin – winner of MIA Best Bowed Instrument award 2012, 2013, 2014
The Primavera Violin Family
The small sizes and quality fittings in the attractive Primavera family make these violins perfect for new beginnners and for young children. The Primavera violins are attractive, they sound good and have quality fittings and built-in durability ensuring these violins are a class above other student instruments on the market and represent exceptional value for money.
In my teaching experience, I’ve seen hundreds of different violins and many, many different brands. For the money, the Primavera violins are the best beginner violins I’ve seen. They have quality fittings and are correctly set up, which means that the pegs will turn/stay in place where needed so the violin will be easy to tune and will stay in tune much better – you might think this should be obvious but it’s really not the norm for lower price violins. Also, the bridge is nice quality and correctly shaped so the strings will be in the right place along the fingerboard, which makes playing (both putting fingers down and using the bow) so much easier.
The bow (either hardwood or composite) has good tension, is nice and light and works great for young children. The Primavera violins look great, they have a good sound (especially if you are able to upgrade the strings to maybe Piranito or something similar) and they seem to last very well. I’ve had Primavera violins rented out for the past few years, and they’re still in great condition even after changing hands sometimes several times. The lightweight case (up to Primavera 200 model) is brilliant, especially for very young children, and the light-reflecting strips on the outside of the case are a good safety feature.
There are six violins in the Primavera range. Outfit means that violin, bow and case are all included in the price. My favourites are the Primavera 100 and the Primavera 200, which has won best bowed instrument at the Music Industries Association Awards three years running (2012, 2013, 2014).
